Ilya Voloshin, MD directs the Shoulder and Elbow Division of URMC Orthopaedics at the University of Rochester School of Medicine in Rochester, NY. He is also a member of URMC Sports Medicine and specializes in shoulder and elbow reconstruction, as well as sports-related problems of the shoulder, elbow, and knee.
Dr. Voloshin is nationally recognized for pioneering treatment of tendonitis and focal cartilage damage. He is an expert in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, and knee joints, as well as complex reconstruction in the shoulder and elbow. He is the team physician for Rochester area professional sports teams and has provided medical coverage for top international squash events.
Previously, Dr. Voloshin was a practicing orthopaedic surgeon at Boston University Medical Center. He completed a shoulder, elbow, and sports medicine fellowship at the Center for Shoulder, Elbow, and Sports Medicine at Columbia University. He has been invited as a teaching faculty at numerous shoulder, elbow, and sports medicine surgical courses and meetings nationally and internationally. He is a member of multiple prestigious orthopaedic societies in his specialty and has authored numerous book chapters and scientific articles. Dr. Voloshin is currently leading multiple clinical and basic science research projects.
