Swank,

You are so right, after 5 surgeries on the left shoulder, I still have pain in it I have pretty much 95 percent rom in that shoulder and about 70 percent strength, and still have pain after 18 months since last shoulder surgery on this shoulder, so pretty sure it will always hurt, so far two surgeries on the right this year and sure I am not done with this on either, losing rom and tender to the touch, just finished pt for a month till see the os again, and also have a clicking sound in the shoulder when I move it in a certain direction, . So Yes nothing is perfect, espicially with multiple shoulder surgeries.

You just had surgery, that's why it hurts. Chances are you will always have some kind of pain forever. These things are rarely fixed perfectly. I've had surgery on several joints and they all hurt at various times. Some more than others. I've had several surgeries on my shoulders. I still have some pain and I'm sure I always will. As long as I can use my shoulders then I'm satisfied. I have resigned myself to never being 100% pain free.

bump anyone?

After surgey #2 I have done nothing to aggravate it or lift anything. My shoulder (posterior) scapula and rhomboids are aching, tight and sometimes give off crawling sensations. Does anyone know what could fix or cause this?

These occured about 3 months after surgery #1 and all that I can think that would have broughten these up was lifting a heavy siutcase with aide of injured arm or trying to resume weight lifting too soon. But why is the ache and tightness and crawling sensation still there????

swank,

I have not done anything after surgery #2. I am still in a sling. I posted the fact that I had lifted the heavy weights too see if that could produce a reason for me to be experiencing the symptoms I am experiencing.

Surgery #2 was meant to fix those issues but they are still there

My guess is your symptoms are caused by the fact that you just had surgery a couple weeks ago. Give it time! Also, lifting heavy things and going against PT protocols is a sure way to cause your surgery to fail. I don't know why you continue to do that.

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone can help me with a chronic issue:

Nov 2009 - Shoulder surgery for impingment - distal clavicle resection & decompression
-- After surgery AC joint was sore but around March 2010 I began to get tightness in the posterior of my shoulder and upper left back w/ a dull ache feeling around shoulder joint and scapula. Sometimes I also got a crawling sensation around the scap area as well.
May 2010- Tried Active Release Technique, Graston, and Chiroipractic to fux issue
June 2010 - MRI and EMG study - MRI showed the joint was fine. EMG/NCV study only confirmed that I had cubittal tunnel in my elbow, which I was diagnosed with two years ago.
June 30 2010 - Capsularrphy Shoulder Surgery - Doctor said my RC was very loose so they tightned it thinking this could be the cause of the ache since EMG/NCV was negative.

So I am now 2 weeks posat surgery, in a sling, and the ache and crawling sensation and tightness is still there!! Its not pain but very very discomforting!

I am wondering what is causing this? Could it be weaken muscles on that side? I tried to lift heavy somewhat early after the first surgery without following the PT recovery protocols. Could that have done anything?

I am kind of at my wits end and do not know what else to do, especially after having another surgery ion which the doctor said besides my RC being loose there was nothin else wrong with my joint.

Symtoms now:
Dull ache around shoulder
Some crawling sensations around back of shoulder joint and upper back (scapula area)
Tightness when I shrug my shoulder up

What Makes it feel better:
Laying down
exercise

What makes it worse
Anything other than above

Please help!!!!
