THE WAIT IS ON

I am a 26 year old female who injured my right shoulder cheerleading in 1991. I have had consistant pain ever since. I had the front of my shoulder tightened with achors 4 years ago. I did not listen to my mother and get a specialist and have regretted that ever since. I returned 5 times after surgery over a 2 year period time to hear that it was me the shoulder was fine. I then asked to see another doctor and was refered to a specialist in worcester after a two month wait and then a cancelation three months later I met a very arogant doctor who had a CT arthrogram done and said nothing was wrong it was in my head. So onto the next doctor. I am a very active young lady and knew there was something wrong. I then went to see a great doctor in Boston at mass general Dr. Zarins he found a tear in the back of my shoulder and fixed this. After the surgery It felt better but not a hundred percent and he was worried there was more to it and being a good doctor sent me to see Dr. Warner also with mass general I have met with him twice and he is going to perform a Capsular Shift in September. It turns out that the entire shoulder is instable and needs to be tightened all the way around. Because of timing I opted to wait till sept. to have to operation. I am hoping this is it for a long time. I have now been dealing with this for almost half my life. I can not picture spending the next 10-20 years in this sort of pain. The doctor has great expections and took the time to answer all of my questions even the dumb ones. I am very happy with everything to date and I know he will get the best out of my shoulder that can happen I will update you after the surgery in 5 months.
