Sore shoulder
I am a 53 year old wedding photographer who has swam laps regularly (1/-1/2 hours every other day)using the overhand stroke for over 30 years. Beginning last fall (2000) I began experiencing shoulder pain off (right shoulder) and on. I could not sleep on that side. I went to my physician who referred me to an orthopedic sergeon for review. I was referred to physical therpy for several months with a program to follow at home. I have had an MRI for tears and rotor cuff which were negative. Range of motion has slowly gotten worse over the past few months and it is affecting my work. I am scheduled for decompression surgery the end of October. Can't get it done sooner because of my wedding season. It's uncomfortable and aches alot. Sleep is limited to afew hours at a time but it's not too bad. Years ago i had a pinched nerve in my leg that resulted in my back being operated on and this is not half as bad as that was. It feels like my other shoulder is starting to bother so maybe during the winter I will have that one done.
