October 2000, I was entering a home improvement store in Jacksonville, Fl, when I got hit on the left side of my body by a forklift. I was knocked unconscious, but I didn't realize it at the time because I didn't remember falling only felt the hit on top of my head. Since, I have a sit down job I only stayed home a couple of days. After a few days my left shoulder started to work me. I went to the doctor and they did Xray of both shoulder. I had no broken bones. I started physical therapy in Dec. and went for 6 six weeks with no improvement. Than a MRI was done and it didn't show anything. I can not reach above my shoulder or very far out to the side or turn the arm in towards the body. I could hardly stand the pain the first 4 months. Now the pain is mostly like a bad muscle spams, lasting about 30 secords. It accurs when I over reach or use it in position that works that part of the arm. The end of March I'm going in to have a manupulation of the shoulder and he is going to inject the shoulder with cortisone. The next day I'll go to Pt and everyday for the next two weeks. It is very painful at night. I sleep with three pillows to keep me more in an upright position. This seems to help and I use a cold compress on the shoulder during the night to help with some of the pain.
