recovery harder than anticipated

Hello all, I had subacromial decompression with distal clavicle resection (arthroscopic) in Sept. 2006. My pain was not unbearable pre-op but it was bothersome and limiting my recreational activities. It was really beginning to affect my activities of daily living as well. (pulling shirts over my head, reaching into the back seat of the car, etc). The surgery went very well. I am seasoned at surgery unfortunately and b/c my surgeon made the procedure sound like a breeze, I was a little surprised at how much pain I felt post op and is still keeping me awake at night 4 weeks post op. The shoulder is progressing but this is not as breezy a deal as I had thought. Good luck!
