my shoulder
I am 22 years old and was a gymnast for 18 years. I was first diagnosed with an instable shoulder in high school. My freshman year of college I had my first of three surgeries. I underwent a capsular shrinkage using lazars. The recovery was time was three months and then I was back to gymnastics. However, I continued to have pain and the following year I had my second surgery. This time it was to repair a torn labrum, removed a hook on my accromian, and drilled holes through my humerous to tyr and stimulate bone growth because my shoulder never fully developed because of the constant pounding during my youth from gymnastics. And then, the next year I had my third surgery. I had fracured my humeral head and it shreaded a lot of my cartilage. I had a cyst in my AC joint removed and they cleaned up my rotator cuff. Because I had the majority of cartilage removed I now am left with arthritis. I went against my Dr wishes and finished all four years of collegiant gymnastics and now I am left to look forward to a shoulder replacement. I am in pain daily. I cant even lift my arm up 90 degrees any more. Anyone else share my pain?
