sports post TSR
I've just joined this forum so I'm not sure if I'm even posting in the right spot but here goes. I'm a 65 yo female, very active in competative tennis. I have bilateral total hip replacements and recovered very well from both surgeries. In Sept 2001 and the again in March 2002 I tore my rotator cuff and had subsequent surgeries. My PT took well over a year but I was able to get back to full activity levels.Starting about 2.5 years ago i developed increasing pain with motion and about 10 months ago started having difficulty sleeping at night. MRI 18 months ago showed advanced glenohumeral arthritis with severe carlilage loss and multiple large spurs. I've had 3-4 cortisone shots with decreasing relief. At my last visit with my OS in May of this year I was told that I needed a shoulder replacement.I'm scheduled for surgery on Sept 15th. My OS has told me that I will be back to tennis though I've yet to meet anyone that has gone back.I have the utmost faith in my surgeon. He's very well known both nationally and internationally for his work on shoulders. Is there anyone out there that can help assure me.
